A 32-year-old Skidigate man was arrested by RCMP in relation to a suspicious death investigation.
Daajing Giids RCMP said they were called to a pedestrian-involved collision on Tuesday on the 200 block of Front Street of Skidigate on Haida Gwaii.
Police added a vehicle struck the pedestrian who later died from his injuries.
“All investigators are working diligently, round the clock over the past few days, gathering all available evidence and speaking to witnesses,” said Detachment Commander Sergeant Chris Manseau.
“While an arrest is certainly a milestone in any investigation, charge approval is always the ultimate goal. It’s important that we take the time we need to ensure a successful prosecution.”
The North District Major Crime unit is conducting the investigation with assistance from local police.
