The power outage south of Burns Lake affecting about 1,300 customers has been resolved.

No cause for the outage has been released by BC Hydro.

Crews remain assigned to the power outage east of Burns Lake affecting about 600 customers.

No estimated time on is available for that outage.

Original Story:

About 2,000 people south and east of Burns Lake are without power today (Wednesday) according to BC Hydro.

The outage east of the community includes properties east of Highway 35, northwest of Highway 16, and South of 5th Avenue.

The outage south of Burns Lake includes properties north of Highway 35, southwest of Highway 16, and east of Keefes Landing Road.

The southern outage went out at about 1:31 this afternoon with the second going out at 2:24.

Both have crews assigned as of 3:15 p.m. and the causes are still under investigation.

Earlier in the day, 1,800 customers in Smithers lost power due to a substation failure
