Several Smithers, Quesnel and Prince George businesses have been victims of fraud, according to the chamber of commerce.
They say a man, believed to be in his 30s, has been using fake cards to make purchases using manual transactions.
The chamber says up to five businesses have been hit for around $1,000.
They’re describing the suspect as six feet tall with a tattoo on the right side of his neck.
The chamber is warning businesses to refrain from doing any manual transactions for the time being.
