A house in Burns Lake has sustained serious damage after a fire.
Fire Chief Rob Krause says they got the call at 5 p.m. yesterday to a house on Government Street.
Krause says the homeowners were home at the time of the blaze. Fortunately, no one was injured.
“The entire house suffered heavy smoke damage, but we were able to contain the fire to the room where it started with a little bit of damage in the hallway outside of that room as well,” says Krause.
He says they were on scene until about 9:30 last night with a total of 23 firefighters.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
