The search continues for a missing woman in the Kitseguecla Rd area near Moricetown.
Police say 53-year-old Frances Brown was separated from her cousin sometime before 9:20 p.m. on Saturday while mushroom picking and didn’t return to the vehicle.
Brown is described as Aboriginal, 5 foot 8 inches tall, 119 pounds with long brown/grey hair and brown eyes.
Brown has backcountry experience, is in good health, and is prepared for the elements with adequate clothing (rain gear, long johns, hiking boots) and a lighter, according to police.
The area Brown was last seen in had light to moderate rain overnight with mild temperatures.
The RCMP said they used lights and sirens periodically in the hope Brown would hear the noise and see the light.
Evidence of a recent campfire was also found on Sunday.
Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue are conducting a ground search along with the use of a helicopter. The Terrace RCMP Police Dog Section and Smithers RCMP have also joined in the search effort.
